FAQ

If your question isn't here, see Support

What does MearVPN do?

It connects your iPhone or Android phone to your own VPN server and encrypts the traffic on the way. The network you're on — hotel or café Wi-Fi, for example — sees an encrypted stream, not its contents.

Do I need my own server?

Yes. MearVPN is a client: it has no servers of its own. A vless:// link or a WireGuard configuration from the provider you rent a server from, or from your own machine, will do.

Do I need to sign up?

No. No account, no email, no in-app purchases.

Do you store my data?

No. The app sends nothing to the developer: there is no analytics, no advertising and no server of ours. Configurations and keys stay on the device. The privacy policy has the details.

Which protocols are supported?

VLESS over Xray — with REALITY and XTLS Vision — and WireGuard in the wg-quick format. Which one runs is set by the configuration you added.

Does it work in a hotel or café?

Yes: the tunnel encrypts traffic on any Wi-Fi you don't control.

Which platforms is it on?

iPhone with iOS 18.6 or later, and Android phones with Android 8 or later. Both apps are being prepared for release — links will appear on the Download page.
